Parts for Pyroelectric Infrared Motion Detector

Below are pictures of a Pyroelectric Infrared sensor and a Fresnel lens. Each of these items is sold separately so you can buy only what you need.

The sensor has a built-in FET amplifier for low output impedance. It is in a TO5 package and will operate at up to 10 volts. The FL40 lens is round and 1 inch in diameter. It is 0.015 inch thick and has a focal length of 0.4 inch. The FL65 lens has an active area 1 inch in diameter with a 1.5 inch square flange for mounting. It is 0.015 inch thick and has a focal length of 0.65 inch. The lenses are made of a plastic that passes infrared in the range of 8 to 15 microns which is most sensitive to human body radiation. These are not wide angle lenses. They have a narrow field of view of about 10 degrees. Read how infrared motion detector components work.
